Very honoured reader,

in Germany, over 40 million people suffer from more or less acute back pain and this number is on the rise.

Study design

Within the framework of a modular scientific study design, 40 randomly chosen back pain patients were randomised, divided into and examined in two groups of 20 test subjects in an initial cross-section analysis. These two subgroups were subjected to the following trial approach:

Group with Andullation and infrared deep heat with the hhp Massage System: 20 test subjects
Placebo group (no treatment): 20 test subjebts

Four points were examined:

1. Subjective pain assessment
2. Body fluid analysis
3. Analysis of trunk mobility
4. Registration of the resting tone of the back muscles

20 test subjects were subjected to a 15 min. application with the massage system set on a standardized programme.

Results

Following the assessment of the cross-section and longitudinal-section analyses of the study, the following can be said regarding the massage system:

	patient's spinal column mobility is considerably improved
	tension in deep muscle areas is released
	a positive redistribution in the bodily fluid system occurs (stimulation of the lymph system)
	the patient's subjective perception of pain is reduced.
